Emphasis is on respect for individual differences and development of care and pride for ourselves, our school, our community and our country. Children are guided in developing personal sense of responsibility for self and the environment in which they work and play. The school implements its Premature Years Literacy and Numeracy programs. To enhance the foundation curriculum the students participate in a range of specialist programs including, music, information technology, sport, swimming, library and art. The children will conduct experiments in the classroom using their various senses, they will learn all about Road Safety, participate in MP and have their first opportunity to be involved in our school swimming program. A highlight for this term is an exciting visit to the TASKWORKS center where they will learn through Challenges for the mind and body. We observe the importance of plants, gardens and our environment. The children will also conduct plain investigations about Water use in the home and in the garden. Students will set up an experiment to test the need for water for plants to survive. At Langwarrin Park we run an extensive visual art program providing a range of experiences. Children experience a wide variety of sequential activities exploring art elements and experimenting with an extensive range of materials and techniques. Gross Motor Skills, hand eye coordination, physical fitness and skills associated with a diverse range of physical activities and sports are developed through the program. PPS students participate in an extensive, sequential Aquatics Program for the seven years of their Primary education. In Prep Year 4, the focus is on developing water awareness, water safety and stroke development in a pool. Through the Sports Program students can flourish their leadership skills. The sculpture takes pride of deposit in the central courtyard of Langwarrin Park Primary School.
